Makita 18V Cordless Drywall Sander Kit with AWS Technology

The Makita® 18V LXT® Brushless Drywall Sander Kit (XLS01TK) offers drywall finishers enhanced efficiency and mobility. With a compact and lightweight design, the XLS01 is easier to use for extended periods. It provides up to 35 minutes of run time on a single charge of an 18V 5.0Ah battery. Users can adjust the speed (1,000 - 1,800 RPM) to suit the application using the variable speed control dial, while Constant Speed Control ensures consistent performance by automatically providing additional power to the motor under load.

The XLS01 features a large and highly flexible head designed for efficiency and maneuverability on various wall orientations. The Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes, allowing the motor to run cooler and more efficiently, resulting in a longer lifespan. The adjustable extension pipe collapses for sanding in tight spaces and extends up to 16-1/2” for reaching high walls and ceilings. Additionally, the removable dust brush enables seamless flush-to-corner edge sanding.

Equipped with Auto-Start Wireless System technology (AWS®), the XLS01 improves efficiency by enabling wireless communication between the tool and dust extractor (sold separately) using Bluetooth® technology. The dust extractor powers up when the AWS-equipped XLS01 is triggered and powers down when the trigger is released, eliminating unnecessary noise and cords.

The XLS01 is part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT® system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion batteries known for their fast charge times. To enhance tool performance and battery life, Makita developed Star Protection Computer Controls™, a communication technology that allows the tool and battery to exchange real-time data to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.

This tool features a direct drive Makita-built brushless motor at the sanding head for increased efficiency and reduced maintenance. The round brush design ensures high efficiency dust extraction with minimal leakage. The highly flexible head swivel enhances maneuverability on different wall orientations. The adjustable extension pipe facilitates sanding in confined spaces and extends up to 16-1/2" for reaching high walls and ceilings. The variable speed control dial allows manual RPM adjustment (1,000-1,800) to match the speed to the application.
